Post-Falls, Idaho, is located in Kootenai County, about 22 miles East of Spokane, Washington, and 250 miles East of Seattle Wa.
Fredrick Post, a German immigrant, founded it in 1870. The Coeur d’Alene Indians previously inhabited the area. Post bought a piece of land from Andrew Seltice, Chief of the tribe, and later constructed a lumber mill powered by water.
The county is named for the Kootenai Indians and Post Falls has a population of approx. 43,000 people.
