Overview of the Area
Post-Falls, Idaho, is located in Kootenai County, about 22 miles East of Spokane, Washingtonand 250 miles East of Seattle, Washington. Fredrick Post, a German immigrant, founded it in 1870. Coeur d’Alene Indians previously inhabited the area. He bought the piece of land from Andrew Seltice, a chief of the tribe and later constructed a lumber mill powered by water. The county is named for the Kootenai Indians and has a population of 29,320 people. It is proximal to many lakes, rivers, and mountains, making it a great place to live and visit during holidays and vacations.
The area has four distinct seasons. It has temperatures that range around the 80s in the mid-summer to shallow teens that are experienced during the winter. In the winter season, annual average sunshine usually ranges from around 30 percent. July and August bring sunny days, on average over 80% of the time. Relative average annual humidity is 46%; with an average amount of precipitation which is 29 inches, and a total of 49 inches of snow. The area has 174 sunny days annually.

The education system is reliable and has shown significant and consistent results over the years.
The neighborhoods are diverse, with people from different races, religion and have a rich cultural background. Religion is also taken very seriously in Post Falls Idaho where 59.30% of people are religious. According to studies made in the area; 5.7 % people are Catholics, 6.15% are LDS, 39.19 are from Protestant churches, and 0.08 are an eastern faith, as well as Jews and Muslims.
Post Falls Idaho has a recommendable health infrastructure. The average number of physicians per 100,000 people is 210 and Idaho have 230. Results from the EPA show that the air and water quality in the area is high and this means contamination that could lead to respiratory diseases, cancer, and stomach problems are significantly reduced to the minimum. There are hospitals fully equipped with the state of the art technology.
There are also many recreational facilities available in the area such as; Along the Spokane River there is an excellent rock climbing, trails & hiking, boating, biking, and swimming. An 18 hole disc golf course on the river and a gorgeous natural terrain cover the area. All these activities and the beautiful environment are a great tourist attraction. It also has excellent food joints and restaurants that are classy and provide an excellent experience for their customer’s including The Red Lion Templin Hotel and La Cabana Mexican Hotel.
